Summer Growth Ceremony 22′
Thank you to all that came and made the youth martial arts belt promotion and ceremony a success!
The ceremony started out with an instructor demonstration choreographed by our youth head instructor Elijah Callwood. It was high flying and ended with a synchronized jump sidekick. We then had some of the youth students perform their belt rank form pattern as well as some grappling. Very fun to watch and the support from the community was, as always invigorating.

In order for the youth students to finally receive their next ranks they must brake a board or more. Sometimes this can be a breeze, but often there it is a challenge to complete this final step. To all of the parents that have a hard time watching their children struggle, just know that we understand, and that we believe this difficulty will ultimately lead to better people. As long as we all continue to believe in them and work with them to get through it.
We have NEVER had any serious injury from the children working through these board breaks. We have also NEVER had a student fail this part. Even if it takes the entire ceremony, everyone eventually succeeds. Those students that have a hard time, will often benefit the most from the experience.

The ceremony finished off with the instructors giving out awards to those students that they believe shined this past growth period. Our Youth Program lead, Christian Mejia was also awarded with a medal for all of his behind the scenes hard work.
Congratulations to everyone! We are now entering the fall growth period! Stay focused! The holidays await!
