Thinking about signing up for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, but want to make sure your know what you’re getting into first? We’ve got you covered. Here’s what to expect on your first day in BJJ.
At EvolveAll, we will have all levels in the classroom, which in Jiu Jitsu is a good thing. Everyone is interested in helping and will guide you through the exercises.
Bring comfortable, or workout clothing. With Jiu Jitsu, the tighter the fit, the less chance it will get snagged on a toe. Think rash guards and compression gear. But don’t worry, plenty of people wear t-shirts and shorts to train nogi.
There will be a warm-up with basic movements, followed by a partnered technique portion of the class. Live drilling comes next, but we suggest first-timers only watch.
Brazilian Jit Jitsu is an incredible martial art with so many benefits:
- Stress relief
- Physical fitness
- Mental toughness
- Pressure management
- Self-defense
It is a live, physical game of chess played with friends. You can expect to get a great workout, meet nice people, and have fun. We hope you’ll join us!
