The new Street Fighter movie opens October 16, and if you grew up feeding quarters into an arcade cabinet, you probably already have a favorite character. Here’s the fun part: most of the fighting styles on that roster have real-world counterparts, and a lot of them are taught right here at EvolveAll.

We don’t teach fireballs, but we do teach the real skills behind the characters, and you’ll leave class with something more useful than a Hadouken.

Ryu and Ken: Karate-Style Striking

Ryu and Ken both come from the same karate-based tradition, built on disciplined punches, kicks, and clean technique. Our Striking class is where you can build that stand-up foundation. Ken is the flashier one, Ryu is the steadier one, and both got good the same way: showing up and repeating the basics.

For younger students, that mindset is the heart of our Youth Martial Arts program. Ryu’s whole story is about patient, long-term improvement, which is a lot like earning your next belt.

Balrog: Boxing

Balrog is the roster’s boxer, and his whole game lives in his hands: jabs, hooks, and relentless pressure. Our Boxing class teaches those same fundamentals, including stance, footwork, punch combinations, and defense. It’s also a serious cardio workout, which Balrog would approve of.

Chun-Li: Kung Fu and Fast Kicks

Chun-Li fights with Chinese martial arts and some of the best kicks in the game. Our Striking class covers the kicking side. Our Tai Chi class comes from the same family tree, and while it’s much slower, it builds the balance, body control, and relaxed power that great kickers rely on.

Guile and Cammy: Military Combat

Guile and Cammy are both trained soldiers, so their style is practical and no-nonsense. That maps well to our Self-Defense class, which focuses on real-world skills and awareness. If you want the conditioning that comes with a military background, try our Fitness Bootcamp.

Zangief and E. Honda: Grappling

Zangief is a pro wrestler and E. Honda is a sumo champion. Both win by controlling distance, using leverage, and making bigger problems for the other person to solve. We don’t teach sumo or pro wrestling, but Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Women’s BJJ are the closest match here. BJJ is the ground-based side of grappling, and it rewards technique and leverage over raw size.

Dhalsim: Yoga

Dhalsim is a yoga master, and he’s the proof that flexibility and control are a real advantage. Our Yoga class is a good place to build mobility and focus, and MOTR Pilates adds core strength and body awareness that help in every other class.

Blanka: Capoeira

Blanka is a wild, self-taught fighter from Brazil, so his technique isn’t a formal art. Our Capoeira class is the closest spiritual match: it’s Brazilian, acrobatic, and built around rhythm and movement. Capoeira is also a real art with deep history and community, so you’ll get far more than a Blanka impression.
