This summer EvolveAll welcomed an intern to help us with Welcome Crew duties at the front desk. Maybe you’ve seen him? He’s Reid Brady. We talked to Reid to get a better sense of who he is and what he does as part of his internship.
Tell us about yourself.
I am starting my freshman year at Washington-Liberty High School this fall. I’ve been practicing martial arts at EvolveAll for 3 and half years. I go to teen class, I’m a student instructor, and go to sparring.
What made you want to do an internship with EvolveAll?
I thought interning here would be a great way to get some experience and also get to know everyone at EvolveAll better.
Has that panned out?
Yes, I definitely feel closer to Mr. Eddy and Mr. Brian. It’s been great so far.
What kind of work do you do as part of your internship?
I greet people as part of the Welcome Crew at the front desk, water the plants (there are plants everywhere!), and keep things clean. I can sign people up for programs in our membership software, too.
The strangest task was when Mr. Brian told me to organize some papers, drawings, and random posters. He said it would allow him to see how I think about things. He never told me how I did!
Have you learned any behind-the-scenes secrets you’re willing to share?
No. I’ve been sworn to secrecy. Is this another test?
What do you like to do outside of the studio?
I enjoy swimming, acting, gaming, and hanging out with my friends.
