Becoming an instructor is truly a challenging role but just as it is challenging, it is highly rewarding. I’m not talking about physically rewarding though it can be a workout demonstrating, wrangling and performing for the students, the magic happens internally. If you like knowing that you have made a difference in someone’s life in a positive way then this may be a path for you!

At EvolveAll, we have a ranking system within the instructors just as there is a ranking among the belt colors. We have:

  • Student instructors
  • Assistant instructors
  • Instructors
  • Senior Instructors
  • Head Instructors
  • Program Lead

Each level has its specific roles and responsibilities. We all must be able to communicate well with each other, be supportive of each other, train together and be accountable of all of the growth our students must go through.

When I look for future leaders, I first look for someone who loves doing martial arts. If you love doing it then you love to spread the word about what you enjoy doing!

Then I look to see how supportive they are of their peers. Though martial arts is a very individual sport, we need training partners in order to get better. If my partner isn’t getting stronger then eventually, I will become dull as well.

They must also be able to understand the techniques in the curriculum very well. To be able to perform the move flawlessly is amazing. If you can also articulate and put it in a way your students can understand, then you have reached a new level with the technique. Kind of similar to when you write an essay and then proofread it out loud to make sure it is YOUR masterpiece. You reach a new level of understanding with the move or concept.

If you are interested in becoming an instructor one day, feel free to speak to me about it!  I’d love to share more information.

I’m always keeping a lookout for the next generation of leaders who will pass on the EvolveAll martial arts knowledge.

“I knew EvolveAll was the right fit for us after my son told me that yes, it was hard work and he’s very tired after every class but he really, really likes it. And I should mention that my sons both think the staff are total rockstars! I highly recommend EvolveAll.”
